My 71 Swinger Build

Hey everyone, I've been a member of this fabulous site for a little while now and have enjoyed every minute of it. I was asked by another fabo member to start a build thread about the car and figured its probably about time to do it. I have owned several mopars over the years but this one has received the most attention as far as building it from the ground up basically the way I want. I have owned this car for approximately 4 years now. Dad bought the car out of california as a basically all original low mileage swinger with the intentions of reselling it. When he got it home I had to have it! It was just recently painted a nice teal blue color and had a brand new black vinyl top. Had only 58k original miles, slant 6 automatic with a black bench seat interior. It became my daily driver. I drove the car for almost a year when some jackass decided to make a left hand turn right in front of me and totaled it. I was so pissed off. I hit the box truck almost dead center of the dually wheels at about 40 mph. Peeled the hood back all the way to the windshield and destroyed the front end. It had a PERFECT! grill and we'll the whole front end was perfect for that matter! So in the process I ended up breaking my left knee when I impailed it on the emergency brake handle put a knee size dent in the dash next to the ash tray. I was a hurttin unit for a few weeks after that mess lol. Thankfully the truck I hit was insured and I ended up getting a nice settlement from their insurance company. That's when the build it the way I want it started. A few months after the crash I began the disassembly and body work. Here are some pictures I took right after the crash.
