383 into a 72 Demon

I am wondering what number oil pan I would need to put a 383 in my 72 Demon.Any other sugestions would also be welcomed.

You need a 187 oil pan. They came in late '60s early '70s big block C-body's.

or a #699 oil pan.there the same as the #187 pan

Notch is for idler arm clearance.

I would recommend fitting it before you paint it. On some cars you will have to trim or tent the pan for idle arm clearance on the outer edge of the arm. I have seen this were you never had to to do anything to the pan. It could be the way the pan is stamped out when made.

something you might want to do is weld in a baffle on the back side of the sump to control oil slosh on acceleration.
