The master cylinder has to be from a drum brake car. Drums use spring pressure to keep the pads off the braking surface, so the drum master keeps some residual pressure in the line so the braking time is reduced. A disk master will not do this, and won't brake properly.
On a disk car, a drum master cylinder will cause the brakes to drag.
So, drum master cylinders have to stay with drums and disk master cylinders with disks.
