Hey all, just checking in for the first time here and I look forward to working on the high mileage '72 Demon I just picked up. It's a 318 car with auto, PS and AC.
The first thing I'd like to do is find an easy ,cheap front disc brake conversion.
Anyway, this isn't my first Mopar, since back in the '70's I had '69 and '70 Super Bees and a '73 Barracuda.

This car was a gift from the original owner and he told me it got 23 mpg. Is this true for these cars?

Welcome to FABO, go to the top where it says forum, click on it and go to brakes. There are many threads with tons of great info. Enjoy

Welcome to the club! Post up some car pictures!

Well, you've definitely come to the right place, however cheap and easy are not words you can really use anymore..........free sometimes happens – but not cheap and rarely easy...........just sayin..............:toothy10:
Welcome............ and have fun with your Demon..............

Oh, I forgot to say that I also work for NHRA at divisional and national events. All the races in Div 7 & some others like Joliet, Ill, Englishtown, and Norwalk.
I'm 55, fat, and wear thick glasses.
Is that low self esteem or just real?

Welcome!, A Great Site For Info!!, How about them PICS??

Welcome!!! The '72 Demon is my favorite post 1970 A-body. Get some pictures of the car up. I heard that they can get around 20ish or so mpg. If you want better than get a /6.

Welcome to FABO. In the mid 70's I had a 72 Demon 340 4 speed... nice car and fun to drive. I recently inherited a 1972 Dart Swinger that was a 340 car in the day, now a 318 car with a 360 waiting in the wings to be rebuilt and put back in the car. I wish I could find a reasonable 340 but alas, they are not to be found around these parts (Northern Virginia) as everybody in this town thinks the MOPAR gear is dipped in gold... so 440WIP is right, it ain't cheap and easy.

The most expensive car I ever owned was the ones I got for free.

This Demon was sitting for 7-8 years and the gas tank smells horrible! I unhooked the fuel line to the carb, ran some gas to the carb with a 5 gal can and an electric fuel pump, pumped it three times and BAM it fired right up. It needed a new fuel pump and the rubber line at the gas tank. After completing this I ran out the 6-7 gallons of old gas by leaving the line off and running the engine off the gas can. I put a few gallons of fresh gas in and took a little ride. There's nothing like waking up and old car and going for a ride!
This car isn't much to look at right now with the bad paint job but I'll post a pic if I can figure it out(I'm old!)
