Wheel Adaptors

They bolt onto your hub just like a wheel. They are thicker than the wheel stud (mostly) and countersunk so the old studs will not interfere. The adapters have studs in them in between where the old studs come through. I had some years ago and installed some aluminum wheels I bought cheap, but sold them before I even drove it. A lot of people use them, and they should not cause any trouble as long as:
1. Your wheel does not rub (aftermarket wheels?)
2. You don't have crazy horsepower or do "Dukes-boys" style driving.

I like the wheels pushed out a little, but I don't like rubbing.
