I use Castrol Super clean. I don't dilute it, squirt it on straight, give it 10-15 minutes, squirt it again, 10-15 min,squirt 3rd time, 10 min, hose it off with a nozzle on the garden hose, and usually it's pretty clean. I've done that on al engines with no damage, and it left the block almost pristine.
