small block pulleys

i have put a 1978 360 in my 72 plymouth duster and ran into a problem with the power steering pump pulley linning up to the rest

all of the pulleys and brackets and power steering pump came off of a 1973 340

the machine shop told me that the harmonic balancer is actually off of a 318 i dont know if this effects any thing

i have been running it how it is since it is my daily driver and the belt has started twisting

any suggestions would be of great help

you have the wrong pulleys on that car. that water pump pulley is a A/C car pulley. the non A/C pulley is deeper and does not run the PS.

what you need is a crank pulley with two grooves. the rear groove will go crank, water pump and then the alt. the front crank pulley groove only runs the power steering.

you will need the correct pulley for the crank also. the non a/c water pump pulley is a larger diameter and will not fit with an a/c crank pulley.

this is how it should be..

here is the difference between the a/c and non a/c pulley for the water pump. chrome on is non a/c and the black one is an a/c pulley.
