Going to purchase a new rear bumper from a m d , can any body tell me is the rear bumper on a 72 duster not the same as the 73 dart sport , it looks identical but maybe not , they say they do not have a cross ref to the dart sport , JUST LOOKING TO CHANGE BUMPER ONLY .

I think the 72 bumper was the same as 70-71 and 73 was the first of the crash bumpers and was mounted different so to be more resistant to damage.

There was an article in one of the Mopar mags not too long ago about making that switch. Probably need the correct brackets (which AMD sells, I believe) and ditch the impact stuff. They did run into one issue, but I don't recall it being a deal breaker because they did end up doing the install..............and it looked good too.

The holes for brackets, and jack slots look identical in the bumper and the cars have the same quarter panels , i was told there are only two sets of rear bumper brackets from 70 to 76 meaning i know 74 to 76 have different brackets , not quite sure what they would use for brackets . thanks for the replys.

Displaying picture of my 73 dart sport, and an unknown 72 duster 340, let me know what you think about being the same bumper just no bumperettes . thanks alot

They are the same. 74-76 dart sports had the big bumper, 73 was the same as the 70-73 duster and the demon
