I recently put a 4 barrel on my cuda and Im having trouble figuring out the throttle and kickdown linkage. You any of you guys share your set ups or suggest kits. Im a college kid and money is tight so please dont suggest a pricey one. I have a Holley 600cfm carb with a Edelbrock intake. Everything else is stock.

Thanks,

Evan

No I dont but it fits, My problems are the return spring and the kickdown. I cant find a good place for the spring and the kickdown hits the throttle cable, also the kick down lever is about 2" away from where is should be when its mounted on the tranny. Here is a few pictures to help explain.

Im looking at buying one of these. Im not sure if this will work with the stock throttle setup.

I did mine by bending the kickdown I added a through bolt and cut off the threads of a bolt with a locknut to extend it. Locked the cable down on the opposite side of its lock down. There should be a bracket at front of motor for return spring and one that goes to kickdown bracket to hold it forward. Mine worked well. I would take pics but car is away till spring. Oh speaking of springs jobbers have multi spring kits fairly cheep. All should attach to the rod shown in your pic but I think you are missing a bracket check holley website.

Get the throttle lever adapter that '64 Cuda linked above. It'll fix the alignment issues you're having by spacing the pivot further out from the carb.

Yeah, my old butt can't remember, but get another pin, mave the kick down out on the throttle shaft. Seems to be missing 2 springs, one inside the other that pull to front of engine. Bracket for springs on front intake bolt, you can make that. But spring tension is important. I probably have it all, but not selling. I will see if I can find it and send a pic.
but really all it is, is long LIGHT springs for throttle and kickdown. Light!.
I went manual valve, and can't remember how 1/2 of how it works. You know the holes in the pivot are for adjusting the kick down. Old pos Chilton book will show it, people in here will chime in, with pics.

I got it tonight without buying or moding anything. I had the arms that go from the upper part of the kickdown and the tranny upside down.:eek:ops: I figured out my spring placement and it all works.:thumrigh: Thanks for the help guys!
