Need info. on how rare is a 383, 67 barracuda
I have one of the "383-fish" from 67. The above is correct, it was slow/did not handle very well and the disc brakes were "ok" at best. Mine is an automatic car 3.23 gear. A good 340 handed me my lunch on many occasions! But I fought back....Still keeping the car "stock" appearing, all the fender chrome factory interior, everything stock. I simply installed a 440! Using the same motor mounts, its a complete fit. Now the exhaust...I installed headers, [Herb McCandless design] very clean and minimum amount of inner fender removal. You really cannot even tell! The 440 is well built, Indy heads, intake and roller cam & a 1050 carb. A Dana 60/4.10's 3" exhaust all the way out, ET Drag Radials, 8" Turbo Action converter/ Manual shift valve body, This car went from being a "fish out of water" to a true "Barracuda" predator of the sea/asphault!
