I have a 489 case sure grip and I have a body axles with rp400 bearing(green) on them. Of coarse this does away with the axle adjuster. My question is do I have to remove the spacer in the middle of my posi unit to make sure the axles fit in all the way. If I look in the axle shaft hole of the posi unit I see the spacer and my friend have a sure grip also but he does not have the spacer in his and he ran rp400 bearings. Help much appreciated.
 
I have both Moser and Strange axels with Green bearings in my cars.I didn,t have to remove the spacer in the middle,maybe my axels are shorter?
 
My Mosers are 28 inches long,then add the 10x 2 1/2 inch brakes.My strange axels are 25 inches with the same brakes,I had a C-body rear narrowed for my 66 Dart.You can always cut some off the end of your axels if they,re too long.Or dissassemble your chunk to get the block out.Good luck either way.

Try fitting them,you might not need to remove the block.Others have done it.
