I have an actual, face-to-face job interview this afternoon. Could this herald the end of the poverty-driven cabin fever lunacy for the intrepid eccentric? [dramatic 1930s radio program style organ music]

As prisoners are too much strain on logistics, none will be taken.

Stay tuned for the thrilling update... (note: It may be prudent to sit on a large pillow. So much time on the edge of a seat oft times makes legs fall asleep.)

there has been so much good that has happened today you can't miss doc!
You used some words there in your post that I did decipher myself :-D

Only the Shadow knows :toothy10: to good Sid :-D
GOOD LUCK DOK!!!!!

:drinkers::drinkers:Here's to a great new job for ya' there Doc!!! Let's hear some good news, and a glimmer of hope at the end of this long, dark tunnel we'll call... "The Winter of DOOOOOOOM!!! Good luck and report back, Geof

Thanks all! The interview seems to have gone quite well. Now begins the torturous wait to see if I''ve got the job. On the upside, waiting up-to-three-weeks is nothing compared to the past 10+ months of casting resumes into the abyss. :-\"

Where the job?....doing what? Quick, tell me so I can scoop it.

The "Winter of Doom", I like it. In my 4+ years on here I've never seen so much tragedy, me included.

:cheers::cheers::cheers: Good luck man. Did you put me on as a reference?

Great, good luck. An actual face to face. Been casting resumes into the abyss for 15 months now.

Crap. I forgot to add your information to the references file on my phone (the one I emailed to the guy while we were sitting there). I'll add you and send it again. Which is the preferred number?

Correction: The references file on my phone was updated w/ your personal cell number.

Great, good luck. An actual face to face. Been casting resumes into the abyss for 15 months now.
It took finding a recruiting agency that doesn't drop the ball. I've dealt with a bunch of flakes up to this point. Keep hammering away. The thing has to have a weak spot somewhere.

Cool.... I'll make you sound stellar. PM me what you applied for so I'm prepared.

I'm resurrecting this to add a sample of my new strategy. The lighting is horrible, but it's mostly a prototype. The final cut will feature expounding on why anyone else would be a horrible choice and some other nice things that they hate.

I'm pulling a Lazarus with this thread to minimize madness contamination to the database. Provided that I pass the whiz-quiz (I'm studying really hard) I'll be returning to wage slavery on Monday. While the past 21 months of casting resumes into the abyss and doing various handyman/mechanic work to stay fed and mobile have been a hoot, I'm glad to move on to the next chapter in this crazy book.

To the many still stuck somewhere in the middle: hang in there. The conclusion can indeed write itself unexpectedly.

Congrats! I know the job market is still pillow soft around here, thank god I haven't had to switch jobs for a year now. Drop me a pm and fill me in on what you do since I'm in a technical field as well.
