yea, i was under the impression that the slant sixes were very reliable, yea, but had power? i never knew a slant six would smoke up the tires on a 66 dart so nicely!. it was even on dry road.lmao.

that little engine that could. i just did a tune up, and took it for a ride, and she purrs like a kitten.

i guees i can never under-estimate them.

That's why their called "the leaning tower of power".

I had a 225 in my Demon with a manual trans that would smoke the tires. I also had a 225 in my Duster with an auto that would not. Got to love being able to rev it up and dump the clutch:burnout:

Early slants had standard 2.94 gears, some even 3.21(or 3.23 cant remember) much easire to spin the tires than the later 2.76

yea, well, i am impressed with it. i know the car is light, but i had a 70 duster that was a 3 speed, and it was a dog with the /6 in it.

The first time I was allowed to drive by my self (16) I had to go pick pizza up for the family.
My car slant, 3 on the tree, 3.23, grandpa gave me.
Limped home with a broken 741 case 8.75.
Spider gears don"t last long when the tires start wheel hopping even with stock 14' tires.

Dad gave me a 66 Fury 4dr with a slant 6 and 3 spd on the column when I was 16. It was a tired old car but it made me molbile. Dad said the slanty's were indestructable..........5 days later it chucked #5 piston and rod out the side of the block.

These leaning buzzing half doxens are made for torque, tanks and for me:iconbigg:
I agree the early A's Like my 66 Valiant sedan is light and they have 3.23 gears in them and with the light 7 1/4 rear end they can be surprising fast and we all know they are tough :iconbigg:

They had 3.91s optional. LOL I think I'm goin with 4.10s in mine.

Those 14 foot tires will break the spider gears every time. :iconbigg: Man oh man! That thing must have had some stance to it! :blob6:

Sorry, couldn't resist. I'll crawl back into my hole now....:tard:

:burnout:

Won a breakfast bet with a guy that said you can't do a burnout with a /6.
Little did he know.............

'72 /6 dart, 3 speed, 225-14-70 polyglass would do a peg-leg peel from "here to there" any time!
