2.76 Great for cruising, though I think I would rather have overdrive becasue with 2.76 gears, 14 rims and 205/70R14 tires she spins about 2500 rpm at 70 mph. I would rather that be around 1800 rpm.

2.76:1
Besides convenience and price (came that way), it seems fine for the type of driving I do (real commuter driving, never "cruising").

Why no choice for 3.73? That seems like perfect compromise combo with the 27" tires on my Duster right now. How come nobody seems to mention tire tire size either? Along with the gear, tire diameter tells the whole story about your final drive ratio and overall gearing.

I have a set of 3.91's waiting to build. Could probably do better with those for racing, but would be too high for highway driving, in the range of a 27" tire, I think.

4.10's lsd with 235/60/14........sideways smoke machine:headbang:
340/904 a and a reverse manual

4.88 for me. I like the accelleration... Had 3.91 but was too boring. I trailer the car if I have to go far.:thumblef:

3.91s with suregrip. Only has 25" worn MT street slicks. Would like a taller rear tire for the 14" rear wheels. Just a play toy that was a track car but I want to tag it and be able to play on the local country roads. I live on what has to be burnout street. Long, straigt, isolated. More than a few of those marks are mine and it's easy to tell as I like to use the line lock so the rear end gets a little outta shape before I release it at redline.

Which brings up another question - what RPM should I worry about exceeding? No idea what is in the 71 cast date 340 except it has a steel crank. Revs like crazy!

3.91 Power Lock with 4 speed OD makes 2.85 final in the "66" 273 Barracuda.

3.23 power Lock with 727 in the "68" 383 Barracuda.

3.55 track Lock with 727 in the "67" 273 Barracuda, unless cruising cross country, the 2.76.

4.56 Power Lock just for fun in any of the above.

4.56 Dana 60 4 speed 29.5 tall tire no Motor. lol But coming soon.

I am running 4:30 gears with a 27" tall tire.

3.91's in my street/strip Duster with 28" tall tires, efficient PTC converter that lowered cruising rpms....and 3.23's in my Dart with a 4-speed.

3.23 's in the barracuda with 14" tires on OEM 14 X 5.5 rally wheels (tried the 3.91's wasn't all that much quicker, just burnt more gas!!)

4.57 's in the Dart Sport with 28" tall slicks (ran 3.91's and later 4.10's with 26" tall slicks in previous seasons)

Got a set of 3.55's I have never really used !!!

PS: OEM 3.55's track lock in the 97 RAM truck with like 235/75 - 16 tires
