Have 73 Duster 6cly, my plan is in the next couple of years is to put a 440 in, so I will be lining up parts to make the swap.
My question is the clearence between the heater blower motor and the valve cover, seen alot of A-Bodys pics on this site that looked like they had lots of clearence when i thought it was a trouble area or concern. Iam sure there are some TIPS to get the clearence. And also my car is a colum shift automatic will there be any issues in that area.. Thxs folks FBO Rocks

Great information, the only difference, i have A/C, i will post pic to show the difference of the blower motor, the motor and plate looks to be all one unit on my car, but iam sure it can be adapted to what you had posted, got me thinken now. thanks 67valiant

I had to put a small dent in the lower corner of my valve cover to get it to fit. It's not the best option but it'll work for now.

My stock valve covers would have fit but were too beat up to use. You will still have to loosen the blower motor to get the cover on and off. I ended up buying some cheap chrome valve covers and bent the corner down with an air hammer. One of these days I'll find some nice factory covers and use them. Also the drain hose doesn't fit on the blower motor, not sure if it will with stock either. If my 440 wasn't already built, I would've went with a 400 based stroker.
