-
i have 225/70/14's on a 5.5 ralleys... on a 6 i would do 245's no problem

I think mine are 225's on 5.5" stockers. wider would be nice. (wheels and tires)
I have a pair of 15x7 rallys to try in the summer. Sorry the top photo is blurry.

When I was shopping for tires for the Cuda back in 00 the Goodyear web page listed 6" as the narrowest rim for a 235/60 tire. That is what I put on the car. Also, my old Dakota came from the factory with 235/75-15 tires on a 6" wide rim.

It wasn't safe but I didn't know they were that narrow until I dismounted the tires.

6.5" steelie with a 29.5x12.50x15 M/T Sportsman Pro. I always wondered why the car would get a little wobbley at high speeds. Heck I even took the car to the strip a few times.

I know this doesn't really answer your question but thought I would share anyway.

I just bought a set of 235/60/14s on 6" Mopar Ralleys. They fit great! I think it was the biggest size that was acceptable for 6" rims.

I have 255/60/15" on the back of my Duster with 6" ralley's.

Just because you can find someone that will squeeze a wide tire on a narrow rim, does not mean you should or that it fits correctly.

I can get the same size pants on that I wore in high school, but trust me…….. You wouldn't want to see it.

X2 You guys are scaring me. I wouldn't go over an inch wider than the rim width.

Are you sure you have a 6" wheel ?

Unless it is a aftermarket wheel, there is no such thing as a factory Chryler 14" x 6" sbp wheel.
There was a 5.5" x 14" Rallye and Steel wheel.
And a 14" x 4.5" steel wheel.

If it is a 5.5" wheel, I have gone with a 235/60-14. Thats about as big as I would go.

On my 70 Dart I have 215/70-14's all around,on 5.5" steelies.
Very close to a F70-14 which was an optional tire for the 340 Dart/Dusters.

I'm sure it's a 6" It's a after market Mopar Ralley. I picked the pair up at Mopar Fest Last Year. Someone had ordered them and changed their mind. This is this first time on this site I have had someone jump on me for answering a simple question!! Forgot to mention they are SBP.

Ive also got a Dart with sbp ralleys at 5.5 also and am looking at BFG Radial TA's 235/60/14 which are 9.2 inches in width. , how do those 225/70/14's work for you. Does your car handle well with them?

Im not jumping on you. Im posting for clarification.

People search these topics. My posting that a 255 on a 6" rim will be at or below minimum rim width (depending on manufacturer).

Nothing personal.

widest tire recommended for a 6" rim is a 235

Well you just blew me out of the water, I was planning to put a set of BFG RAdial TA's 235/60/14, 9.2 inch wide tread on 5.5 sbp ralleyes I have. So I guess that maybe 225/70/14 at 8.4 inches would be ok??????????
