Hemi Yes or No

good site...but too serious for me...after all..I'm in charge or you might say....President (self proclaimed) of the "fartten around", former drag racers, has been street racers, current cruises association (FAFDRHBSRCCA)....did I get it right ?...maybe for short..FABSA(fartten' around bull sh&ters association)

LOL!!
But seriously, if you want a Hemi built right, Tim is your guy.
I've worked with and known him for 25 years, you won't find a more honest and proven engine builder.

Lucky for me, he just built my 360 !!
Doesn't normally do anything but Hemi's but I wasn't about to say no !!

I'm sure by now your getting used to the picture of your car with the hood up... scratching your head looking for big block power...... your a fool..... enjoy beating the Nova's in your home town

Atleast the guys with the nova race their cars..no my hood is usually up especially in the pits when guys like you come over and want to see what just blew their doors off..use to love it when i beat the guys running hemis at the nostalgia events, man they'd have a total look of disgust on their faces thinking no one could touch their big bad hemi, and seeing a small block under the hood..priceless

I'm sure their look of amazement was more do to the goofball drivin' than anything else.......course..thats just my guess!.....I just couldn't resist!

may I add.....the ones I knew who were fast..really fast...never...REPEAT..never..ever bragged about it....didn't have to.........just sayin'

The whole reason you buy a Hemi is so you don't have to prove anything to anyone they allready know.

Just bring that big bad hemi to the track, and i'll be more then happy to put the same disgusted look on your hemi-owning face...

First off I want to thank everybody who helped me make my decision to buy a Hemi for what my purpose is it is the right choice. Some of you have given me great advice here in this thred and others have chosen to pm me and not get caught up in all the mess going on, that being said I now own what seems to a very nice motor which I will be building very soon, so I would like to get some thoughts on how best to approch this build. As I said before this is a street car with a 4/speed and 4.56 gear the motor is a stock block and heads. I want it to sound pretty radical and run decent, but with the stock heads I know I cant run to much compression on pump gas and so figuring out the cam choice will be critcal any suggestions would be helpfull. Also carb intake stuff.

Stroke340 I am taking this thred back to a Hemi thred and if you have any good pertinate thoughts that would be great, if not please create your own thred and we will all go and do the bench racing, name calling, smack talking stuff over there.

Thanks
Bob

Agree....... Bob, talk to HemiDenny about your build. He has some great insight about what his street motor was/is going to be. congrats on the choice, you wont be disappointed.

Seriously, I've just read this whole thread, and to you who started it Good luck with the Hemi! They are seriously awesome! But I just have to say a couple of words regarding this Smallblock Vs BigBlock argument... Sure, someone just said they had a 440 SB out, and that's freaking huge but then again I think chevy just landed a 632" BB... I'd like that 440 SB beat that 632 as prepped as the 440 and with a good chassi, ain't happening.

I own a 318-392 stroker, just saying.

No one that wins the TopFuel runs a 340.

Hey HemiMark......I wouldn't worry about the racin'...I'd be more concerned about scrapin' the chrome off the bottom of your rear bumper on a hard leave....I've rode w/you and you are one wild and crazy MF
