I am working on a friends 69 swinger and he would like the front bench seat firmed up.What's the easiest and best way to get like new firmness to the seat bottom. The seat is out of the car now

There are springs in the bottom that are not very stiff. Adding more would help out a lot. Had just a short part of one spring brake on my bench under the driver side. It was amazing how much it softened up the seat. If you could find another bench for parts I think that is a good way to go. That and maybe redoing the foam.

Sometimes, if the springs are cutting into the foam, you can put a piece of carpet between the springs and foam. Try it first, and if it's better you'd want to glue the carpet in place. I've even used a some cardboard for the same trick on a saggy seat in one of my old beaters.

Ahhhh!
My kind of fix!!!!!
I'm going to try it in the morning!

1 way I have heard of but not yet tried. Get extra springs and install from cross ways. I would think near the center of the seat, maybe 2 rows. That would tie the springs together and "even out" the load. But you would need to remove the covers and foam. Just a thought.
