though i am a way off on painting my car. i was wondering how do you care for a matte finish. I know some guys have flat black hoods. you couldnt wax them right? what do you do just wash it? what happens the first time you get a greasy hand print on the fender? i was considering a medium to light blue matte finish. very similar to the paint that is already on it. even though it wasnt meant to be matte.

I repaint once a year with a spray can, haha, I've washed my car a few times also...and mind you, this is over a crappy spray can job, I'm sure legit paint would be fine to wash plenty of times...

Here is what I highly recommend for "matte" finishes. :D

My hood has got a satin clearcoat over the flat paint,i wipe it down with Mothers back to black every so often during the summer season, been keeping it looking good for about 5 years now..
