Not necassarily, its more of a marketing tool, the "wow" factory, that doesn't make it have "more power", it just sells engines. & just because there aluminum, that also doesn't mean you can port them & make "better" power over irons, There are a few aluminums around that have crappy port design, porting them in most cases will only make them worse then they already are.
