Hemi Yes or No

My wife agrees with your wife so I guess i'm Retarded too. Or is that 3 hell i be retarded so I don't know.

mine's sawin' logs...shes got no idea how screwed up we are...oh yeah..she turns 50 tomarrow...grrrrreat!

Seriously, I've just read this whole thread, and to you who started it Good luck with the Hemi! They are seriously awesome! But I just have to say a couple of words regarding this Smallblock Vs BigBlock argument... Sure, someone just said they had a 440 SB out, and that's freaking huge but then again I think chevy just landed a 632" BB... I'd like that 440 SB beat that 632 as prepped as the 440 and with a good chassi, ain't happening.

I own a 318-392 stroker, just saying.

No one that wins the TopFuel runs a 340.

No they don't but the hemis they're running are way beyond anything that is being mentioned here...

but they are Hemis......we can't help it we don't need that much HP and tend to tone em' down a bit......how ya doin' Stroked 340?...

Ok since we are back to bench racing stroked340 mines bigger than yours nanny nanny nanny.

Course it's still in pieces but thats not the point here mines a HEMI!!!!!

Ya, Keith Black and not one single part in or on them is Mopar you can bet that..

yeah..but I saw a sticker........ever been to Don Garlits Museum....lots of "production" blocks in those old dragsters....never saw one small block though.....ready to say "uncle" on this yet?

Hey mines all mopar except the pistons but I bet you would be glad of that since we just lowered the compression ratio with them. I will be glad to run your small block if it's setup the same way.

They currently run any hemi's in Nascar???...nope all SMALL BLOCKS!!!

I'm afraid that the "small blocks" that NASCAR runs do not share
one single solitary part or design with any A, B, RB or Hemi engine.

They are a stand-alone powerplant built to the rules (358 max cu. in.)
and are completely unique. They don't even have the same intake and
exhaust port spacing and positioning as any Mopar street motor.

Not even apples and oranges. More like apples and shift knobs!

don't worry Stroked 340......when you grow up... you can have a Hemi too...

When Hemis were originally banned by Nascar it was because they
were so much faster that they enjoyed a huge and unfair advantage
over any conventional wedge headed powerplant.

The Ford Boss 429 (Hemi-headed) was developed specifically to stem
the onslaught of the all-conquering Chryslers.

Nascar outlawed them both and instituted the 358 cubic inch rule before
things got further out of hand.

The superiority of the Hemi is precisely why no one is allowed to use it.

No thanks most hemi owners i've met have their heads up their arses and think because they own a hemi they're something special..NOT.. everybody and their mother has one people stuff them in everything now..maybe back in the day they might have been something not anymore...

Does this look like any 318/340/360 you've ever seen?

I didn't think so.....and the intake and exhaust ports are

evenly spread.....like a big block Chevy.

I've tried very hard to engage in a technical discussion exploring
the pros and cons of the different powerplant designs here.

I'm afraid that you haven't made one valid point and if this name
calling is the best you can do then I must search out someone
who is better informed.

Intake manifold for Dodge Nascar engine pictured above showing even
port spacing. The exhaust ports are similarly evenly spaced.

This does not resemble any civilian Mopar powerplant.
