So the time has finally come for me to get my rear here the deal I'm going to be ordering a complete rear end from moser I'm getting the Moser 60 Built to Order rear but my issue is what differential should i go with my car is a 72 demon 440 stroker 4 speed car that's gonna see the track as well as the street i just want to get a differential that will work for both any help would be appreciated thank you ...here is the link to the order fourm on my options http://www.moserengineering.com/complete-rear-end-assemblies/12-bolt-part-number-configurator-1.html

I put a dana 60 with a trac lok and 4:10 gears in my 67 Dart. I am running a 360, 904, and hope to weigh 2800.

There's a difference between 'street' and 'I wanna cruise at 70mph for 2 hours'.

I would go with a 3.54 in that Dana if you are seeing street and track. Get a cam that will make use of that gear and your cubic inch displacement combo. Luckily you have a 4 speed so this allows you to get creative with cam choices.

With the right cam consistent 12.5's* are possible with the right intake, headers, and TRACTION.

With a 27" tall tire you will do 60mph at approx. 2750 rpms.

yeah my engine is probably more then i need to have in that car but its gonna be more of a local car and track car i know im going with 4.10 gears im just not to sure what will work best in type of differential my options are spool 35 spline, trac loc posi 35 spline , true trac 35 spline detriot locker 35 spline , and spool 40 spline

In my 70 Dart, I'm using a Strange S60 with a Detroit locker and 3:73 gears. 530 HP /520 FT LBS TQ 408 small block, with an A833 4 speed tranny.

I think a spool is strictly for race only, no street...So I wouldn't use a spool...I'd go with the Detroit locker for max strength, but they are a little noisy and "clunk" when going around turns...The only issues with running one would be noise, weight, and cost.

"A detroit Locker is a gear to gear locking diff. It doesnt slip. It "clunks" when you corner. If you've ever heard a Boss 429 or Boss 302 car turn sharp in a parking lot you've heard them. It's usually very noisey, but you'll never break it. If you want a top of the line limited slip for the street I'd only recommend the Detroit Tru Trac. The Auburns or any other cone-style diff is a waste of cash. They wear fairly quickly, and as they wear they produce metal particles that also ruin the gears. Get a clutch type, or Tru Trac. " -Quoted from "Moper"

Im a big fan of the truetrac, I worked on a sae race car when i was in college and we used a similar design for our diff. I was blown away how it worked, the gear type is the only way to go in my opinion.
I think an original Torsen diff is the kats pajamas, but the truetrac is very similar in design.
