If you have any experience with proform carbs please let me know what you think of the performance and quality.
Thanks.

For the money, you can't beet a Proform carb, They had a thread over on Moparts about them, most love theres. I used there MB & was very pleased.

mine ran great on my motor. only reason i'm not still running it is because its too much for my stock motor i have in the car now. only thing i found wrong with it was that the idle air bleeds were smaller then they were supposed to be. i drilled them out and the idled great and ran great.

i have installed the main body and throttle plate from them on my holley im very pleased so far

I hated mine. Looked like a cheap piece of poop made in China product. No matter the tuning it didn't work nearly as well as my good old 650 Holley 4777 DP. Car ran like crap, lost ET....Maybe I just got a lemon, lol.

had two 750doublepumpers

mine worked ok no problems with it as a singlecarb, worked well with two of them on the tunnelram aswell but i dont have any timeslips to prove it.
one thing to watch out with on them is that the idlemixturescrews they like to unscrew from the meteringblocks, solved it with some springs stolen from pens.

I have gotten mixed reviews on them, but most of the time positive feedback.
I don't like the loose mixture screws info though.
I think i will stick with the holley hp or ultra.
Quick fuel is the only other consideration.
I have a 750 hp on my 360 and love it.

I might be selling my standard 750 double pumper and may be in the market for a new carb.
The 750 dp carb is on my 318 at the moment.
I am building a 400 big block and was thinking of going bigger with one of the available carbs.
I only have two good carbs at the moment.
The 650 holley i got with my 400 is my third carb, but i am not really sure how good it is.
What ever i get will be put on my 360 for the moment.
The 830 hp with the annular boosters looks like a nice piece.

My 318 will be happy with the 750 hp for sure.:-D

Not 2 sound negative, but the 750 will be too much carb for a 318, sounds like you have enough carbs for what your doing, put the extra $$$ in something else, I'd run the 650dp on the 318 & the 750 on the 400, I ran 10.9 @ 122+ for well over a year on my 451 with nothing more then a swapmeet 750dp & a PF MB, it was jetted 73/82., then i went TR.

I believe there was an issue with the 600-650 DP metering blocks when using the PF main body in the past. Don't know if it still exist.

The 650 is pretty old and beat looking and it's not a double pumper.
The 318 runs great with a 750.
I should wait and buy the 950 ultra for the 400.
Holley and all the other carb company's pricing is set so the bigger carbs are cheaper to a certain degree.
It seems the trend is to use a bigger carb and use annular boosters to keep the low torque better then it would be with down leg boosters.
I know with more rpm things change also.
I am one of the few who used a 750 dp on their 318 and if you have a good understanding of how the carb works, it can be done.
Most every hp build done in mopar magazine used a 750.
When they used the proform body,it was a 750 with down leg boosters.

I have been wanting to try a carb with annular boosters on my 360 because it's in a heavy car and at the same time be getting the carb for the new 400.
So many choices..................it's a good thing though.

I hear what your saying & i know how carbs work too, sure the 750 will run ok on the 318, but not optimal, try a good 650dp (even a 600dp) & i'm sure you'll be surprized.

Thanks Joe........
I hear ya.....
I wish i could own a 650,750 and 950 ultra.
I'm not joking......I would like the ability to tune every part of the fuel curve.
When i bought my hp 750 last year the ultra carb was like $900 or so.
Now they are cheaper.
The kicker is the 950 ultra is $800.
The 650 ultra is $1000...............................#-o

if its not a double pumper its not a 650 more like 600 or 670street avenger vac sec.

I'm thinking way back they offered a 650 standard flange VS but don't think they make them anymore, they do make them in Spreadbore.

T67, if you shop around you can find a decent used 600-650dp for a good price, i really like the 650dp, its very versatile, especially on a mild SB. Annualar boosters are nice, but they tend to go "fat" in the upper RPMs & can be a bit tricky for the novice to tune in, you here it alot.

I am going with the 750 proform main body for $125.
It's the best deal.
If you think about it,I will have a hp carb for $125 bucks.
They even come with the gaskets and jets.
I didn't realize they came with the extra items....... :glasses8: (I'm SOLD)

I had a proform main body in my holley 700 double pumper for years now and it worked great. I also tried a ProForm 950 HP a couple years ago and that thing worked flawless!! We've got one on my kids Mustang and it works awsome also.

The more i do research on this it seems the proform carbs are really good.
The 750 proform is $520.00 brand new.

I also found out that the new proforms are all aluminum.
Both the older design made of die cast -(zinc) and the new -all aluminum- proform carbs are available for the same price.

I like the all aluminum proform 750.
They look just like the quick fuel carb and have changeable idle feed restriction! (jets)
This is something you only get in a very high end carb.

The Q series quick fuel carbs don't even have this.
You have to buy the race series quick fuel to get it and they are $300 more.
Holley only has the new street carbs in all aluminum and the dominator ultra.

I would bet all the money in the world that holley won't even have a high performance hp or ultra die cast zinc carb available in two years.
Everyone is going to billit aluminum carbs.

I just ordered the 750 proform carb today.
I sold my 750 double pumper.
I hope it last as long as my holley did.
