If you want to go with the perceived stronger case and clutch sure grip, you're going to pay.
The pinion size IS NOT the weak link in the cases. So that whole weak case point of view is useless. Nothing your 318 can do is going to hurt a 8.75 rear unless you do something dumb with it.
