Fellas,

I'm doing a frame off on a 71 Demon 340 and am upgrading from front drums to a Kelsey Hayes power disc brake system that I salvaged from a 68 Cuda Form S. First, I need to know if the proportioning valve and other inline blocks from the 68 Cuda are correct for the 71 Demon. And if I buy new brake lines for the 71 Demon will everything fit, and if so, what is the proper routing? If someone is putting new brake lines on thier 71 Demon or Duster resto will you send me some pics of the routing and valve moutings so that I will know how to put everything on mine properly.

Thanks,

Eric

I thought all 340 cars had these discs standard. Anyway, just go to Inline tube, they reproduce all the lines and the distribution blocks. There should be a hold off valve just behind the distribution block.

I think the distribution block for 71 has the proportioning valve built in. You may need to get lines for a 68 Barracuda. Not sure of the wheel base on the Demon, the 68 Barracuda lengths may be short. Or get the proportioning valve for a 71 Demon with power disc brakes when you get the lines. Routing should be the same as what you have. If you don't use the 68 barracuda proportioning valve, you can sell it. I'd be glad to buy a spare.

Gtmachine, the k-h were standard for the 70 mdel, but in 71, it was an ooption for disc brakes

I too am doing that KH conversion...to-date I have ~$675.00 into it and I still need to blast parts, powercoat and find one KH caliper to steering knuckle bolt (snapped one). I really wanted to stay original but second-guessing maybe someone makes a 5 x 4" kit...do not want bbp 4.5".

The wheelbase of the Demon will be the same as a 68 Barracuda,108 inches if that helps.

I bought a new 69 forumal s fastback 340 on 10/24/68. It had
drums all around. The only thing that kept it from being a perfect auto was lack of stopping ability. My 67 fastback does
not have disc brakes but it will before i put it on the road.
