got a cytech 4 post lift

got it to lift the Prowler to clean it, but it is great to change oil and do anything under the car.

Have used it to store 2 cars in the same space. And basicly built the Dart sitting on it. Even dropped the body over the engine like the factory when it went in the 1st time

I put one in my new garage. Got it from American Automotive Equipment. 4 poster, has wheels so the lift can be moved around the garage if I want, supposed to be moveable with a car on it. Single hydralic cylindar and heavy steel cables. Was easy to put together, heavy stuff though. Only put 10 ft ceiling in garage, wish I had gone to 12 ft. Car gets high enough I can get under with a slight bending (I'm 5'8") but sure is easy to do work or change oil and filter. Best under $2K I have spent in a long time.

That's why they are not legal in many areas today. Lucky guy that lived to tell that story.

I got a lift about 10 yrs ago. Forget the brand, but it too is out of business. I got the lift for the cost of pick up from a Mohawk dealer who had to remove it to sell the customer new lifts. He told me for home use it would probably never wear out. So far, he was right. He also said that if anything ever did break I could probably replace with available parts from other lifts. So far, luckily, I have not had to go there.
 
At home I have 2 Metro four post lifts for storage more than anything. At the shop I have an Ammco 2 post. My shop has 12 foot ceilings and my garage at home I was able to get 10'6" out of it.

I've got 2 in the shop. One is installed and it's a "Centered" 2-Post style lift... Aka the "Door Banger", the kind that gets in the way of opening the doors

The other is a "Arm Forward" 2-Post style Lift that allows you to open the doors without worry, but I haven't got around to installing it, it's been hogging up the corner of the garage for about 5 years now. Just don't have the time/motivation to install the second lift at the moment.

My "Yama-hog" A '78 DT125 with a MX175 top end/conversion. Picture was taken when i was putting the bike back together to start riding it to save on gas :D It was only ever used on the street in 1978 by the original owner, so it has super low miles (170 miles) but was neglected/left out in the weather it's entire life.

Did a couple modifications, like turning it into a 175, did a 12 Volt Conversion, repainted most of the faded body parts, etc.

And my '74 Duster.

It's actually a 4-Bay Garage, but my grandfather (boss) never wants to throw anything out, so it's always cluttered up with crap.
 
12k pound lift bought used for 1500.00 installed and it is made in America. there are a lot of used ones on the market. sometimes under $500.00 you disassemble and haul off. I found mine through the Snap-on dealer in the area. I asked him if he knew anyone going out of business with lifts and gave me several names and each time I could get a hold of someone they were always gone. Come to find out one guys was buying them and reselling them installed, it was a no brainer. This guy makes a living at used tool business.

Of coarse I tested it on a foreign car before I dare put my coronet on it...LOL

Well these aren't at home, but I get to use them whenever I'm not working. :cheers: I thought I'd through one in of my toolboxes/bay. The one on the left is full of my tools and the built in one on the right is VW specific tools.

Lift's are better than sliced bread! get yourself one if you can it makes working on a vehicle SO much easier.

Be prepared for everyone you know to ask to use it though!!!

Oh man, that tool box setup is the nuns tits.
 
Mine is a direct lift pro park 7000, It's been great, and never had a problem with it ( 8 years old) and I use it nearly every day.
 
and yes, lift or not when its minus 30c and your shop is nice ad warm everyone wants to use it.
 
We have an Eagle 9000 lb twin post A symetrical, which mean's the main post's are at angle to the vehicle, to make room to open up the door's, but sometime's there still is not enough room to get out of the car, so usually have to push it a little farther to lift. Probably had for 8 year's or so with no problem's. I think they are made in Joshua, TX.
 
Bendpack 9000HD, Love it, scissor lift is pretty handy also

I have two 9000 pound lifts and one snap on portable. I can use any of them when they are not occupied by my customers transmission problems.

I really like the looks of this one,as I can't go a full size lift as I don't have the ceiling height in either of my garages !!:prayer:
 
10.000lb bend pak MX10, asymmetrical, one piece posts. 12' tall, 90'' between. Been working in shops all my life. My home shop is 30' x 50' with my lift centered. DON'T CHEAP OUT !!! Buy a quality lift with cert's. Cost around $2500 at the time. This will be the only lift I ever buy for this shop. It has been fault free for 7 yrs now. Industry standard parts. Made in USA! Best investment I made for my home shop. I see guys doing minis on stands and it SUCKS!, I know, but you do with what you have!

I have a bendpak four post in my garage and it was the best thing I ever got.
Now my duster sits on it awaiting for repairs, it is nice to be able to work underneath it without crawling. I also got a air jack on a roller to help things out.

I like it a lot but my neighbors now think I am going to fix all their cars.
