ouch.....looks like its got a bit of rot in it, but nothing that can't be fixed.

build it your way man, don't let others opinions stop you from making it how you want.....if its just a 6 cylinder car factory than by swapping in a v8 you will not be hurting the value on the car.

not to mention building the car yourself and doing all your own work makes for a great sense of accomplishment and pride in the car when it is done.
