Mopar Damper ID

Iron cranks (nodular) are typically externially balanced. Steel cranks are typically internally balanced. Some 318 truck cranks are steel. If it has been balanced by a machine shop id'ing shouldn't be necessary. A reason to know for sure might be accessories, such as flex plates or pullies etc. 318 being a small journal engine like 273 or 340, a 360 crank won't fit. 340 rods are floating pin usually 318, 360 are press pin as you mentioned. After market parts can be different though. Hope this helps.

Thanks. Pretty much knew all that. Don't know where the balance job was performed, or if it's been balanced internally or externally (to a factory amount of external balance). the dimples on the damper suggest its not neutral balance but there were no weights on the flexplate or converter???
