so im converting my car from man breaks to power disc
i bought fire wall mounting bracket from the guy at sweet water on here
bought booster and master from auto zone
guy who i got all the breaks from said get a booster from a 76 it works just fine no problems

well the fire wall mounting bracket holes do not line up with booster studs there about 1/4 off and there squeezing the rod and rubber boot A LOT if i force them to the studs the one on the rear of master that the rod goes threw

some thing is clearly off and it seems like a very tight fit to valve cover and wiper fluid tank i know its tight with the big booster if i can even run it
but seems like its to low by like a inch maybe the bracket? maybe the large booster

im not sure if the fire wall mounting is incorrect or the
booster is different in 76 and will not work with early a body fire wall mounting bracket some one has got to know whats going on
the car is a 68 340

thanks

A pic would help a lot here. Can you post one to show us?

dont see what a pics gonna do the dont mount up ill try theres only the booster and what holds it to the fire wall

I've got a cadmium plated reproduction bracket here I bought with a box of used brake parts.. Previous owner burned the bolt holes out wider with a torch and it still didn't work. This post doesn't solve your problem but at least you know you're not the first.
I do know there are 2 or 3 different boosters for a-bodies. Their brackets may be different also. good luck

wow that actually helps alot so i guess im better off just ordering a whole thing from right stuff and calling it done

hers the pic

I have a booster, the bracket and all the parts off my 74 duster, you can have it for the cost of shipping if needed. I am goin manual. I drove the car this year up and down the highway several times for hours, to me the whole brake system worked well, just too sensitive for me. Was like pushing down too easy or something. Anyway, for the cost of shipping from Sacramento area.
Looks like 30 dollars for 20 pound box, on Fed Ex Home Shipment.

I need that firewall plate with the odd shaped boot on it.
New is 28 bucks :(
