pretty much made the commitment to put the stick back in the car and leave it this year.

So here is my new Tim Hyatt built clutch. its almost to pretty to put in the car

he takes a Mcleod soft loc pressure plate then sets it up per application (springs, levers, counterweight ). this should give me a little slip off the line when its loosened up, and hopefully keep from breaking parts. then just tighten the adjustment back up and she's street ready..

here is my stock geared proshifted/faceplated hemi box that i broke last year. im not going to run this one even though its fresh and ready to go now. after talking with tim, the car is just too heavy to use a 2.65 first gear. i had another proshifted box that was tore up, but it has a 2.93 first. i have the parts up a Liberty gears right now getting fixed. its getting a fresh proshift on 2nd and a faceplate on 3rd & 4th. i've already decided if i tear that one up im putting a Jerico in it...

yea we just had the same thing happen with the Mr. Norms (700hp Race hemi) car we built...

started out with the centerforce dual friction and a 833 setup like yours from passion.
first run out sheared every tooth off of 2 gear counter shaft...

had them put a hardened 2nd in it, took it to the track and lost the clutch in 4 runs...

we were going to run the soft-loc but the owner didn't want to have to mess with it so we opted for the aluminum flywheel twin disc centerforce setup, so will see....

hi, nice clutch setup, looks just like mine. the softloc is a very good setup.
I run one in a 340 stocker. I switched to a jerico 2 yrs ago, the 833 was having breakage. the jerico is by far way better trans. just food for thought

how much trans tunnel mods did you need?

yea, i figured the hemi box will probably be on borrowed time in my heavy *** car. im already set up for it though so i'll give it a shot. A Jerico is on my wish list!!

Nice setup, I think you will be surprised how much longer that 833 will last with a proper clutch setup. I run a Mcleod borg beck long pp with 1200# static pressure and sintered iron disc and a 3.09 first gear 23 spline 833. I ran all last summer with this combo with no grenaded parts( first time in 8 years ) the only mishap was a driver error missed 4th gear witch burred up the clutching teeth on my home made slick shifted 833 and that just made it harder to power shift 4th. The car is around 3400# and cuts 1.50 60's on 26x9 slick, 4.10 gears and a best of 10.99 at 123.8 with the bad 4th. The trans gears are out to Liberty having the same thing done as yours, hopefully better ET this summer.

Nice call on the adj clutch set up.

I did the same mods to my Hemi 4 speed...but went with a Lenco St 1200 for a better 1st gear.

It's a boring ride now compared to banging gears with the "H" pattern shifter...but I'll have no trans maintenance issues for a long time.
