Mounting a muncie to a small block mopar??

I bet it did. What would you recomend for my stock car.

I would recommend the best Chrysler Manual you can find.

The one that suits your needs best, with the ratios that suit your use.

Let me say something...................
*
I found that Super T-10, mentioned above, in an a Big Block AMX.

It was "Hammered", the input shaft was loose as a goose and during disassembly loose ball bearings, shaped like jelly beans, many colored blue, came pouring out.

I bought complete rebuild kit, and did as much magic as anyone could to get things corrected, cleaned up, deburred, & polished.

Also I was lucky and a Max-ball bearing was available for the front bearing, so I didn't have to make one.

I also did all of the "Stick Only" mods, so that even if I cracked the case, and lost all the fluid, I could still make it home without parts welding themselves together.

I blue printed the dead lengths of the stock trans and the Super T-10.

They were like night and day.

Long story short, I put "A Lot" of work into that trans and it really came out beautiful.

The price at the wrecking yard $50

********************************************

Now for the mistake of not researching exactly what it was I was doing.

In my defense it was 1982, I was on unemployment and living in a little apartment in Auburn Wash.

That trans, as I mentioned, came out of a light weight two door Big Block car.

The trans was going into a 57' pick up with a 223 six cylinder.

This was a mis-match.

The maiden voyage showed this fact at the first take off.

The gear set of the Super T-10 was "way" to high minded for my application.

Looking at the rear end showed that the gear set was 223, highway gears.

What a mess.

I pulled the third member, and went to the wrecking yard, I made a deal with the guy.... my highway minded third member(excellent condition), plus a little something, and $20, in exchange for the lowest gears I could find in the yard.

Found a very nice 3.89 member and put it in.

It helped, but fact be known that trans belongs behind a strong V8 in a two door.

Moral of the story................

Know ahead of time just what ratios you need for your application.

Check and verify what the ratios are in the trans you are looking to purchase.

First gear was 2:23 in that Super T-10

The only one higher came in a Corvette at 2:20
