Makes sense It is pretty heavy though I was surprised that I was able to pick it up and throw it in the back of my k5 blazer that's lifted 9". Everyone at the pick n pull though I was not gonna be able to do it, but I did. Did u run yours narrowed or throw it straight in?

hi, I cut ends off, welded mopar 8 3/4 ends on and shorten same width as my 8 3/4. I had a 35 spline spool and used my brakes and axles. shorten drive shaft about 3/4 inch. I also changed to a 1350 yoke on front. just food for thought

I concern over using the original axles because of the register for the center bore of the wheels.
Most 5x4.5 wheels have a 3.3 inch center bore, where 5x5.5 has about 4.25 center bore.

I would consider contacting one of the alxe suppliers (Strange, Moser, Mark Williams, etc) and have some axles built in the 5x4.5 pattern.

Easiest would probably be as mentioned, have the truck ends cut off and mopar ends welded on, so you have the smaller brakes, etc.

Ok thanx for all the info everyone, now since the d60 has no pinion snubber what would I need to address? I have a set of oldschool Lakewood traction bars I could put on to help with axle wrap, would those be enough? I know I'm gonna have to get perches welded on the bottom of the axle what degree should the be welded at? Am I gonna have to relocate my shocks?Thanx again everyone.

when i did mine a couple years ago, i didnt have to do anything about the shocks, i mocked up my rear end (putting everything in place as it would be ) but without the shocks and without welding in the spring perches but bolted things down but not tight then adjusted the pinion angle down from level to 4 degrees and tacked the perches then removed the whole thing and welded the perches , this worked out fine for me .

I too had no provision for a snubber so i made my own after having seen those used on mustangs , they mount to the underbody and point down. That has worked fine for me.

Right on thanks everyone for the help, I plan on getting it under the car this weekend just wanted some experienced advice

Hey guys one more question, will the pinion offset be off in my duster if I throw it in as it sits and just have the axles redrilled?

So I'm gonna end up having to cut it up? I'm guessing I'd screw things up if I don't?

If I stood up the axle on one drum and measured from the floor to the center of the yoke and compared measure menus side to side that should give me an idea of the pinion offset right? I believe it's supposed to be offset to the passenger side 1 3/8. Correct?

Measured my axle side to side and my center of the yoke is offset to the passenger side 1 3/16 I think that's what Mopar calls for. Passenger side is 31" and drivers side is 32 3/16.
