Hey all, my father just purchased a 1968 Barracuda notch a few weeks ago. I have been a chevy guy all my life ( I own a bbc 70 chevelle) but I have always like Mopars, just not Fords. Well, since getting the barracuda, I have learned a lot while tearing into it and reading up on this website. Here is the rundown of what I know so far.
The car is a factory 6 cylinder/auto car but had been converted to a 65 or so Formula S drive train. It has the 8 3/4 rear with 2.76 open gears ( I counted the teeth with putting seals in it). It has the early a833 with the B and T tailshaft, hurst shifter, and a 318 with hooker comp. headers, edelbrock carb and intake, with an electronic ignition. It did have the 273 from the formula s in it at one point and the guy we bought it from still has it. It already has the disc brake conversion. No a/c or power brakes, only power steering. The car has been in storage for many years so the body is very rust free and straight.
We bought the car not running so we are in the process of going through the process of replacing things that tend to go bad after sitting for 15+ years (flushed gas tank was the first thing)
Just wanted to intoduce myself and let yall know this site has be helpful already. Ill post some pics of it when i get the chance.
