Whats the best intake manifold for me???

yeah it is a vacuum secondary. my dads a mechanic and my neighbor... where the car is at is an even better mechanic im 18 years old and have been into working on dirtbikes etc alot of my life no so much cars, i know how alot of it works just not alot of the specifications on stuff like the difference between x and j heads for example. it has the stock intake right now so i wouldnt want to spend over 200ish. i know im backtracking here but do you think an intake is really worth it? again any knowledge is appreciated. Thanks

IMHO, the stock intake is head and shoulders above the standard Performer...even taking into account the weight difference. There's just somethin about those old iron beasts that flow like ***** in church. I wouldn't change it if you're worried about the extra money. The air gap would really benefit you more in the higher RPM ranges anyway. So....it has a stock intake with a Holley? Then it has a Thermoquad intake with a spacer? Getting that spacer gone will net you some bottom end HP and torque. But....that means going to a TQ. They are great carburetors. I recommend them highly and for just your kinda build.....but you have to know how to tune them. If your dad or neighbor knows about them, I would try to snag one.
