Show your slant 6 a body!

1967 Australian VC Regal. currently stock Slant 225.

plans very definately involve staying slanty with a bit of a 4-door 'gasser' vibe.

mfdu: Noice! I've always thought the VC roofline and rear styling works way better than the US '66 Valiant. Same up front, for that matter.

(and Daliant: SWEET! That '73-4 Valiant front clip on '72-3 Dart body, in that colour, works great!)

Thanks Dan.

The VC Valiant kinda looks like a 60-61 Mercury Comet from behind but more squared off and the taillights straightened out.

Hi all new here, just picked this 75 Dart Sport /6 for my daughter. Matt

really? but of course, mother mopar blessed us with a much better set-up than anything from the fjord camp!

one thing i love with the VC is the arc running all the way along the sides like a taut bow.

here's a pic from the front corner (i'm second owner. she was pretty neglected but at least has never been modified. yet!):

and the interior (note the radio delete panel? classic - the fella paid the money for a Regal, but stuck with the basic tan interior and never paid the $31 for the AM radio or the $6 for rear seat-belts):

so she's had some rust repair work done since the pics, as well as lowering the front and all trim removed for detailing.
gotta order some new carpets soon.

slant6 all the way!
plans are for a cruiser on the street / off street nostalga drags. so going to dual carbies (speco manifold) and extractors initially.
long-term plans are 4-barrel intake, NOS fogger plate and maybe moving towards an SC14 supercharger or one of those turbo set-ups off a buick grand national?

thanks slantsixdan - i agree about the rear stylin. but i am biased, since a US val would cost five times as much down here. there was a non-running rust bucket 66 convertable with trashed interior going for $5K.
there is a bit of a difference with the front - i'l have to post up a better pick of the front

oh, here's one i found from the interwebbies:

and yours:

your '66 front end has more in common with the AP6 ('australian production')

(apart from the 'wings' i guess - nah now i look at it i see your '66 front panels are the same as our 67 VC front panels)

No radio or rear seatbealts but it has three ash trays, I guess smoking more important to the original owner. The Merc Comet has a similar looking back glass and similar trim along the "C" pillar, The VC is better looking of course.

more on my '67 VC.

i have to decide 2" lowering blocks, or 1.5"? what do you think?
she's a bit low in the nose after going nuts winding down the torson bars - i want her sitting low, with a slightly higher nose. a bit of a gasser look, but not crazy high nose like the old school chebbies.

(missing some front trim, as i'm busy detailing it)

Roadworthy again! :)

geezercruise28.jpg

geezercruise29.jpg

Starting with a stock old man's car I:

Replaced a damaged fender
Rebuilt the front end
Swapped the 904 automatic for a 4 speed
Added 11.75 disc brakes
Swapped in a 3.21 geared 8 1/4 rearend
Added 1" Torsion Bars
Added Bilstein Shock Absorbers

Since these pictures I've welded in subframe connectors.

It's quickly becoming a fun econo-cruiser that handles.

Next step:

Install the new fuel tank sender, finish welding in the replacement floor pans and swap in the Super Six setup. Maybe some wheel spacers in the back to bring the rear wheels out a bit more. Then work on the cosmetics and interior a bit.

Then just drive it! :)

Hi there guys, this ist still my first post in this forum. Excuse my bad english, I'm a german kraut, but I'll still do my best. I'm 37, still in divorce,
have two sons, my hobbies are tattoos, mopars and classic motorscooters (vespa / lambretta).

My first US Car was last year a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500, Small Block 318 cui. Good for carrying heavy parts, but bad for parking in our small cities.

Second one this Dodge Dart 1967, 4 Door, 225 Slant 6, Stock engine, some Parts are still missing (some letters of "doge / dart" on the body).
For the future I would like to install a super 6 manifold and another exhaust. Now only a flowmaster 44 muffler is installed. Rest is stock.
Further i have to remove some rust at the trunk and some other body parts. Also there is no radio unit installed and the fuel gauge dos not work.
Not very much to do. In my eyes it is a very reliable and light car, great A-Body !
Thank you and
