Where's Dodge in Nascar???

Nascar is crumbling apart. Nascar has been trying to sell the drivers instead of the manufactures, just like wrestling.
People that like Nascar, still cheer for their namplate. This is where Nascar has dropped the ball.
The Domestic manufactures has brought this to their attention, as a result, the cars are supposed to start looking more like the models they sell.
In my opinion, the sheet metal should be the same as the car in the showroom. open the rules to allow wheel openings to be modified & adhere to the current safty standards.
Find a compromise with the spoilers & allow only the V-8 engines found in production of that model of car.
I would like to see it come down to the Challenger, Mustang, & Camaro duking it out.
There isn't a V-8 toyota car made. So this leaves them at the curb, unless they step up to the plate.
Let the manufactures modify there OEM V-8's, no speacialty Nascar engines like they have now.
You wouldn't have to worry about restrictor plates anymore.
Make Nascar a more of run what you brung & hope you brung enough.
NHRA is just as bad with their PRO-STOCK cars. The new Avenger looks like crap, the only thing that I can identify is the grille. I don't think the body in white applies to it anymore.
Pontiacs running Chevrolet style engines. They don't even make Pontiacs anymore.
The current Pro-Stocks look more like a Funny car than a Stocker. The funny cars look like something from outer space.
Racing needs to get back to its roots to survive.
At least thats my opinion.
