Ok, I have officially started to re-building of my Valiant. I thought about parting it out, but, I can't bring myself to do it. My son saw it at a swap meet and liked it, so I bought it. Should have looked at it closer, but it was raining and it seemed like a good deal.
Original paint/int, 225 slant with 3 on the tree, bench, rubber floor mat, radio delete, 3.23 7 1/4 rear, manual steering and brakes. It is light blue with lt/dk blue interior. It ran great, very peppy, didn't handle bad...for a while. Brakes were spongy, but I could see the one wheel cylinder leaking. No other leaks.
On the way home, I noticed the steering started to stick when I hit a bump, and I literally had to jerk the wheel over to get it to steer again. Not too safe. Upon getting it safely home, I realized the front subframe, where the upper a-arm bolts, was completely gone and pulled away from the subframe. No more driving it!
I started to accumulate some parts. A set of 66' Barracuda fenders from and awesome fellow member on here that only need a few small patches, a set of front subframes from ebay, same guy had a set of 65' Barracuda buckets with tracks that he practically gave me. I'm using the KH disc brakes off of my 72' Dart in the front, along with some black 14" steelies (for now) and the original hubcaps. The trunk and rear subframes are great, but the crossmember does need replaced. All of the floors except the drivers rear look like swiss cheese. But...I like the car.
For now, the drivetrain is staying. Gonna get detailed along with the rest of the car, poly bushings, stainless lines, etc. I get a little crazy with that stuff. Interior is going to black, an so is the body. My sons idea.
I'll post some pics later tonight, of what it looks like right now, the work it needs and some of the parts. I may have a lead on some floorpans, but if anyone has any of the above parts, let me know. I have a baby coming in June, so I don't have much cash, but I got lots of parts to trade.

Don't forget, pics are coming later. New camera, havent figured it out yet.
