Well this is the first of many pictures of my restro!! The car got here today.I have been working on getting everything needed to switch this over to a 340 4 speed. I got the transmission this morning and the 340 is at the machine shop being built as I type so things are on there way. I will continue to post my progress and I'm sure asking for a little advice on the way. Not sure of a color yet so any suggestions are welcome. Sorry for only the one Picture today but before i roll it in the shop to start i will take a few more. I plan on starting tomorrow and hope to have it running before summer.

Nice looking project you have there.
I would stay with the original color with the black Demon stripes.
But then again, i like green. Don't paint it red is all i ask!
keep us updated.

Not to big of a red fan myself. I'm not sure if I'll keep it green or what yet but I must decide this week as the motor will be done this week and ready to go in. I really don't have a color that sticks out to me.
The car belonged to my Grandmother. She gave this to me about 10 years ago. I moved to Maine from SC and it sat for 10 years (probably 20 years all together) in her garage. She passed away this past June so I had to really get moving to get it up here. She was the only owner so it's never been touched and in really good shape. The trunk has a few rust spots but underneath is in great condition.
I'll keep the post coming as this should move really quickly. Any idea on where I can find a chart of all the stock colors?????

Well the motor and Trans are out! They've been out for a weekl or so now but just have not had time to post. I'm putting it on the lift tonight to sand blast and get the underneath and motor area ready to paint so I can get the motor in. The trunk will need to be done first as yo ucan see it rusted out. Luck for me the piece that went bad is a solid part online that I got last week. Once it's blasted I should really bea ble to see what I've got.
The color of the car is going to be the original green. For some reason it grew on me. It will have the black stipes. Just need to find the fat strips that go on the hood. Any idea where to get those. I've found the others but not those. Thanks for looking. I'll post more as it goes.

Oh yeah, looking for some disc brakes up in the New England area. Anyone know where I can get some??

Brad

very clean project to start with, just as clean as mine except my sports got raped so missing lots of stuff

Well sandblasted the car this weekend, got the trunk pan replaced and painted the underneath. Will get the motor compartment painted tomorrow night and let that dry to get ready to drop the motor in. Have to finish building it first. I should have a few more photos for you guys after i get the motor area painted. Things are finally going the other way. Ready to get the motor in there to hear it run!! I decided top stay with the Green that it came with and plan on putting the blacks stripes on. Should look pretty nice in a about another month. But of course things never go as fast as you'd like. Thanks to everyone that helped out so far. I kept all of your names and and you all with get huge props at the end!!

Well as promised here are the photos of the Trunk and Motor compartment complete. Need to finish the Trunk but ready to get the Motor in so the Front is ready to go. As I mentioned this is going back the original Green. For some reason I really liked it and wanted to stay with it.

all that work why didnt you do it correctly and spend 20 minutes to remove everything in the engine compartment?

OUCH!!

You would never know they did not come out if you had not seen the photo. I did not want to take the chance on something breaking just for the paint job in the motor compartment.

This resto job just looks to easy. I thought it tooks years of scraping, grinding and welding to make a car look this good!! WOW. I like the green also. Going with duel scoops and a wing? SBP Ralleys or what wheels? Body color steelies w/ your hub caps look good IMO. Also is that AMD trunk pan? Looks great.

Thanks. This has been pretty fun so far with a bunch of learning involved. My buddy and I are doing this and he is the brains behind the operation but it's going to be nice in the end to say I did all the work myself (minus the motor work). I am going with the dual scoops and wing. I'm not sure of the rims yet but they will be SBP but I am going to find a way for some 15's because we all know the tires and rims make the car... The trunk is AMD and it fit great. Trying to make that piece would have been to much work and that made it to easy.

Thanks again for the great comment. I hope to have the motor in this weekend and more photos will follow!!

very cool build im building a demon kinda similar but for you disc brakes set up go to winkel auto inc in milford NH all he dose is specialize in mopar parts so hell be the guy to talk too

I think your cheating and taking pic's of two cars you can't possibly be moving this fast.

Just kidding looks great you guys building these Demons are making me want one bad but dam I already got 2 cars.

Well got the motor in this weekend. The headers are very tight but they fit. Not sure how I will get the starter out if it ever breaks but that is the price you pay for headers I guess. I also got the transmission in with the shifter cut out of the floor. I also got all the linkage and pedal hooked up. Been a busy weekend but everything went together pretty easy. Thank goodness i got the hump from a fellow FABO because i was not aware you had to cut that much out of the floor for the shifter. Kind of odd how two of the linkage go above the trans cross member and one goes below. Never seen that before. Going to take most of this week off for meetings out of town but I'm a little ahead of schedule right now so a few days off will not hurt. Thanks for looking!!

I know what your saying about the Headers/Starter. Looks like your running Same as mine(Hookers?). I ran an OEM starter for long time but few years ago with new Engine and Headers ordered a Mini Starter. Quite certain It would come out without un doing the Headers. D
