Bought a Davinci 950 carb and it's setup now with sqaure jets. Don't have it in hand yet but what is your experience with sqaure jetting?

It depends upon what you are using it for. If it's street driven, you probably want to run smaller jets in the primaries than the secondaries. If it is going to be on the strip most, or all of the square jetting would be the way I would go. JMO.

since this is posted in a racer forum..going to assume it is a race car..

I like a power valve in the primaries...with the leaner jets

Way to go without a power valve. Especially if its on a 1 to 1 secondary linkage.

Must not have a power valve if it's jetted square. If that's the case it'll probably go real rich just out of the idle circuit. Not good for street driving but fine for racing.

Thanks guys, It will see street driving also so I will change it to match that application. Just wanted some racers feedback on this one.

I think this will depend on how radical the engine. You should try it as delivered first assuming no leaks of course, and see how it runs. You may find it likes not having a power valve.

I will do that, thanks much for the response!

Well, I got the carb, stuck it on the car and so far it loves it. I am installing an air/fuel mixture gauge on Friday so I can see what its doing. It cold started and idled like it was warm (no choke). It is very responsive from stand still punch to WOT. can't wait to get some times on this, I do have an 850cfm Quick fuel to play with also.

Just shot some video, Bolted the carb on didn't touch anything, Here it is!

They are both spinning and smoking, if you stop the picture throughout you can see it on the other side. The right tire was on a big white painted line for a while and probably didn't get as hot as the left. The fact that I had to let off at the end because it was stating to slide left would confirm that the posi was indeed working. =D>

My Holley 750 HP new out of the box came with power valves in the front and rear metering blocks. Also came with size 76 jets front and rear. I believe that is as square as you can get. lol

This should confirm the posi. Nothing like a finger print, or should I say tire print. lol
