Well they killed our best Saturday night cruise-in with the Marcus Dairy closure (guess Danbury could use one more F'n grocery store)
Besides the tiny Sycamore in Bethel, what else is there in western Ct?
I've been to the BBQ joint off Rte 111 in Trumbull with Hemi Pete, its kinda small but seems to be MoPar dominated.

The friday night cruise down the street at the huge shopping plaza is great, kinda wish they did that one Saturdays now. Torrington McD's is also fun and packed, but again Friday..

Anything over the border in NY?? Carmel, Brewsta, Maho-Pack??

Not sure if he's doing it this year but I would'nt doubt it... Ralph Barbagallo runs one at the Newington Burger King on Saturdays. Mopar friendly (preferred parking) and reasonable (charity) donation. Different themes on certain weeks. I've been there a couple times and it wasn't bad.

Saturday nights around Newington and the Berlin Tpk. used to be a wild time :burnout: Bit of a haul for me for to often, but would be fun to head out there every so often. Do they still do that cruise night at the McDonalds around the time Papa's Dodge does the car show??

I can answer two of these question, yes Ralph is once again doing the Saturday night Burger King cruise-in in Newington. The best place for the schedule is www.ralphsrapidtransit.com. As for Papa's there was a change in management. Ken is leaving, and his brother Dom is taking over. They are not doing a show with Mopars in Motion and I haven't seen anything as of yet that they will do a show on their own.

I have been wanting to go to a Ralph show for a few years now,it's 220 miles round trip for me.If something good comes up in Danbury, that's only 125 miles R/T:tongue9:

It's a bummer I used to enjoy Marcus Saturday night cruise & then back on Sunday morning for bikes. The only other cruise that was as big would be Bear Mt. on a Wednesday night but I heard they are going to start to down size attendance.

Back in the good ol' days at the Farmington Polo grounds I think it was just Papa's that did the entire weekend event. They did an awesome job. The cruise night they organized was great.

Ive spoken with Walter from MIM and they would like to do something in the Danbury area but they have something for once a month all ready.

Just reminded me of a question I had-off topic from Marcus and cruise nights. I used to sorta belong to the "tri-state" Mopar club (NY-CT-Mass) they put on a nice show just north of the CT border at Bogeys in Great Barrington. Then they added a second all makes/models show. Did they merge with MIM? Their website not updated since last summer.

Back to Sat. night cruise nights, I think I have a nice idea for a spot that is maybee 10 min. from the old Marcus. The Friendlys Restaurant in southern New Milford off Rte 7 (next to the huge Staples plaza) I'm not sure how they would feel about it, or what they could even do if musclecars and hotrods just started to patronize the establishment. Bet they wouldnt mind the extra business with the economy the way its been.

wasnt there one across the street at the old Mexican place, I think its Johns best now.

No, they have not merged with MIM. I saw that their show is listed for 6-13-11.

yep, thats the location.. Johns Best moved into the Boston Market, and a new Mex rest is in the same place as the old (Fajitas and Margharitas)

Timed it today, from I-84 exit 7 merge with rte 7 to the end of the highway at the NM line took 7 min at just under 70 mph. Marcus exit to exit 7 is less than 5 min, and the Friendlys is just about another 6 min from the end of Super 7. Parking lot is pretty big, and the lot next door at TJ Maxx get pretty empty by 7pm

Those were some good times for sure. Nothing can compare.

June 13th is a Monday. Sure thats not their calendar of events for 2010? I stopped receiving emails from the club, they had financial difficulty and were looking into co-sponcering stuff with other NE Mopar clubs last I read.

U-R not kidding. I swear back in '82 and '83 I virtually existed JUST for that weekend in May. I've got snapshots from those days, the E-body showfield then could dwarf most of the northeast all Mopar shows these days.

Read in the CT cruise news (March-April) there is now a cruise night in Woodbury, Ct. I remember 3 yrs ago they did one on a weeknight at Theo & Gretchens, and 2 yrs ago on Thurs nites at the jct of Rte 64 at a different restaurant.

We have talked about doing a show at my shop but Im just down the st from the sycamore,

Damn, I haven't been to Sycamore in years. Last time I was even by the place was when you had the picnic at your place.

I was the same way.... I remember all the burnouts everyone would do when leaving the dealership on Sat. Night heading for the pike.

Now I here Papa's won't even have a car show this year? Lame!

Yep, and I was one of those guys doing burnouts and having a blast. It's a shame those days are over. Wasnt aware they wont do the show this year. The last few they had at the New Britian dealership were dissapointing.
