I want to see some bad boy eddy headed small blocks. They seem to flow enough to support lower 600s N/A when ported to the max on 408s and other strokers.

Let me see your builds as long as the have eddy heads and are LA powered.

IDK if they'll suport that much power and /or be liveable though the advertised numbers would suggest so. Actual flow is down from what talented people tell me. Reguardless, this should be an intresting thread.

Let us know if the heads are ported and if so, how extensive.

Also any track data with car weights would be helpful along with the cam specs.

Just trying to get an idea how far into the 10s ole red could go with these heads.

I have to bench race until I get my dang cummins finished. Give me a break.

That thing seems to run pretty good. Mid tens would be nice and that helps me think these heads will get me where I want to be.

I run out of the box Eddy's, closed chambered with Hughes valve springs.
.020 over 360 short blk. KB107 pistons, stock rods & crank. Hughes solid cam H5256.
Holley strip dominator intake & 750 holley.
The car weighs 3060 with driver. best et 11.20 @ 117MPH

418"s. 71' 340 block +.040,Eagle 4.00 forged crank.Scat I beam 7/16" capscrew rods. Diamond forged -21cc dished pistons. Childs and Albert ZGS rings.Coated Clevite bearings.ARP main studs/head bolts. Edelbrock(And here's where mine differs from most as i wanted to take advantage of the better combustion chamber) Full ported #61779 magnum heads w/ custom seat work. Comp Cams pro magnum 1.6 ratio chrome moly small block chevy pedistal rocker arms. Comp Cams XE 284 .507/.510 284/296 and with the 1.6 rockers works out to roughly .537/.541 lift. Moroso 8 qt. pan. M1 single plane. Demon Sizzler 850 TQ. FBO ignition system.

There's a guy over on Moparts that has a Dart with a 410sb mopar, MCH cnc ported eddy heads, 13:1, roller cam and lifters from me that supposedly made 630HP on a DTS dyno...I'm not too sure about that as he had some ring issues shortly after that when it was in the car, and has since fixed them.
His car has gone 10.20's. He's up in Washington, and I believe it was a good day, maybe 1800ft. D.A.
Car with him wieghs about 3100lbs. Auto trans, 4.30 gear I think with 28 or 29" tire. I belive he still foot brakes...MPH seems to me was around 131 and 129-130 typically.

eddy heads on a maxed out perfect combo may go lower 600´s but its not gona be easy

here is my eddy headed litle stockstroke 340 heads are wellported 340eddy heads flows 284 on the intake at .550" cant remember the exhaust numbers.

9.7:1compression
Prosystems E85 dominator
missmatched comp XR280R camshaft 570/576 lift and 242/248 at 50duration
1 7/8" TTI headers
Eagle H-beams
forged TRWs
3 or 3.5" exhaust have not made up my mind on that realy yet.
a converter that stalled 3500rpms behind the same motor with alitle more compresion without the blower.
Lysholm 3.3liter twinscrew on top of it. capable of 14pounds of boost, will start low at about 7-8pounds and get a feel for it but you can count on that i will raise boost until something blows over time
should make some steam 600+hp would be nice

Duster 340, you have forged TRW's?????!!!!!!!! Don't you know how heavy they are? They tell me here that they will just flat pull your rods apart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yep they are around 700grams if i remember it right.. naa not a problem been past 7500rpms many times with them and no problems this engine had corrected stock rods earlier and has been turned lots higher in the past. they may be heavy but they also wont deform or flat out break for nothing these have lived thru cracked cylinderwals, droped valves and even ben run with a serious collant loss and the pistons are still fine

What do you think his combo would have done with a little less compression so it would be pump gas friendly? And that is exactly where I would like my car to be if not just a touch faster to get a 9.

How much have you gotten the eddys to flow? I would like to switch to the indy heads but if I can get the eddys to flow enough I would like to keep them because I would just have to get the indys worked over anyways.

if E85 is available where you live it could be a solution:)

It is not available. I am from the south where oil is still king over corn. I drive this car too much to have to run race gas too.

That SBM you have looks good man and I would expect a wee bit more hp out of it than of what I have in mind.

I believe it. I've been running TRW forged pistons on my 340 for 8 years now, and since they came with the engine who knows how long before that? Several thousand street miles, several hundred dragstrip passes, several over-revs, and they are fine.

This is the great pain in the *** when it comes to performance and money. Your at that point (Maybe) that fully ported Edel.'s may not be enuff for what you seek.

The next head in line will cost alot of money no matter who's head it is. And then the work on top of it all.

Going faster and faster will allways require moer and more money. It just sucks that you'll spend alot of money for little gains. But such is the way of things.

I'm right in the middle of putting togather a 410" 360 block for my 73 Dart Sport bracket racer. It consists of a early block, .040 over, Scat 4340 4" crank, Scat 4340 H-beams, Probe flat tops, and a top end kit I bought from a fellow racer that consists of Ported Edelbrock heads, 11/32" Ferrea valves, titanium retainers, milled to 58cc, flow 287/212, Comp solid roller 269/276 @ .050 w/ .654/.655 lift, Comp roller lifters, Comp pushrods, Comp stainless roller rockers, & Edelbrock Super Victor intake. The guy I bought the top end from had it on an identical 410" as I'm building and made 594 hp on the dyno. He ran it in an all steel 71 cuda and ran consistant 6.60's 1/8th mile. I saw it run many times!

I'm pretty sure it would have slowed the car down .3-.4 easy.

I've got a set of Indy 245cnc heads with Jesel rockers for sale...they will easily get you where you want to be. You can sell the eddy heads and use that coin with the $$$ you plan on spending on porting and upgrades and that should put you within a grand of a full Indy topend.
Otherwise, I consistently get 292-296cfm at .700 lift. These Indy's go 340 @ .700 with a 2.100 intake valve.

thats a shame,i realy didnt want to go that way in the first place but this build was something that just ended up like this somehow and E85 is fairly easy to find around here and the price of it is not skyrocketing like highgrade pumpgas.

thanks, well its just a litle streetmotor built to have some fun out of the remains of a broken NA motor and a few runs down the 1/4mile to settle something with a very lightweight nova a friend has nothing that will set any records :) if it makes an honest 600 hp before it expires i will be happy

Thanks for all the combos listed guys. I guess I am gonna just gonna weigh my options and see how fast I really want to go with this car since it is gonna stay on the street. I got some other stuff in mind for the meantime
