Motor plate or elephant ears?

I'm getting down to the nitty gritty. My 400/451 is in the shop being balanced. It will be going into my 74 duster, auto 727, Manual brakes, Manual steering, Schumacher headers. Looking for a motor mount setup, either motor plate or elephant ears, I wonder if the elephant ears will be sturdy enough or should I just get the solid one piece motor plate? I'm looking for some helpful opinions. Thanks
