Awhile ago, I rebuilt my 68 cuda fastback's suspension with handling in mind. I had a set of the Mopar SS springs which I found were not the greatest pieces to use for handling...Too high and stiff. lol So, I went ahead and bought myself some of those Hotchkis sport handling springs that Steve (autoxcuda) talks so highly about! :) I will install them some time in the next week or so...:)

This is how it looks with the SS springs, the front is high because of no engine or tranny...

Stay tuned...More to come...:)

Which SS springs are on your car right now?

they are the 3000 lb units. 002, 003...BUT, i THINK I got 2 of the same ones that have the same spring rate, because from my understanding the SS springs are different on each side, one is a little more stiff than the other....

I was looking into buying the same spring for my dart. HOpefully you can get it done intime for the mopar alley show and we can check it out. :)

Hey Migs
I have this entire set up on my 69 Dart including the frame connectors. I will be at the Mopar Alley show so you can take a look at mine if you like.
All I can say is I have a COMPLETELY different car now. The drive to Spring Fling was a kick in the *** but it also kicked MY ***. This old fart ain't used to that stiff of a suspension over that loing a drive anymore!
Sure handles nice though!

Hey you can always post some pics for the rest of us in a new thread somewhere here on FABO. I'll even say please. I've got the itch to make the Demon a comfy cruiser sometime in the future.

Wylde1.

thats pretty funny it sits pretty level with no engine.

yep. the rear is up high, not super high, but as low as I could get it with the SS springs. Itll look much better once it's all back together.

are those mustang bullitt wheels?
yes. 17x8 wtih 5.72 backspace with an additional 3/8" spacer on the front. and a 68 b-body rear. which is about 3 inches longer than an A-body rear. I had to move the spring perches inward 1/2" each side...:)

I hope its done by then too...well at least drivable...lol what is the exact date of mopar alley?

And just a side note, as soon as I get my engine and tranny installed, I'm gonna do a before and after....with SS springs then change out to the Hotchkis units...so It's gonna take me another couple weeks, I'm waiting on my brother to help me button up my tranny. :)

how come yo uhave no motor in it, didnt you go through the motor a while back?

HA! Yes buddy, I finished the engine about 3 months ago...318 with RHS heads, Edelbrock RPM cam and manifold, Hughes roller rockers, MP windage tray, and Dougs headers.

Currently, I have been in the middle of the 904 rebuild, which I started during Christmas...I'm slow, have very limited time and funds, but I'm gettin 'er done. Just need to do final assembly of all the hard parts into the case.
Trans rebuild consists of red clutches, kolene steels, HD band strut, red front band and forward/rev band, PTC 3000 stall converter, TransGo 2 shift kit and other miscellaneous things done to it.

Remember my thread about the engine a long *** time ago entitled "My 318 is no more.. :(" lol, kinda of a lot has happened since then. Same for my "christmas transmission rebuild" thread...

But I'm getting 'er done..slowly but surely. :):):)

A Body Dodge" parking section. I think they had the Plymouth a bodies right next door last year.

The date of the show is June 5th. Looking forward to seeing you and many other friends there. Hope to have my first pos at the show in project class.
