Balancer question

Ask Moper about them - I think he has first hand information

Anybody ever use one of these?

I know, Chinese junk. But doesn't replacable counterweights seems like a great idea? One balancer for all small blocks? Looks like there's an SFI rated version as well...

nope sounds more like cheap than a great idea realy. after seeing what happens when a cheap damper blows apart i will never buy a cheap one,the one i say literaly blew apart sending one pretty big piece of iron into a framerail making a pretty good dent and another piece smashed thru the outlet fitting on a fuelpump taking it cleanly of the pump, good thing no fuel ended up in a hotplace that could have got real ugly, this was on a pretty good running sbc that was always run with a rpmlimiter at 6000rpm

I saw few of them slipping

so ...

power bond are my choice used 2 of them
with out problem

One of these "Low Cost" balancers also had figment issues. We had a thread or two about them.

I can't remember if this was the brand......

Cool idea, poor execution.
As far as imported junk...
20 purchased over 4 years between me and the business I used to work with for various makes. 7 by me personally for my builds. 2 of mine failed due to outer ring slippage. Still have one on the shelf in the box. These failed but didn't destroy anything. Others all in service working fine by all accounts.
This is not the same brand that failed and wiped a crank that cost me $1500 last year. just my opinion here... which has changed over the last year... Buy an SFI one if you feel you have to use product from these companies.

Good info. I've got a couple of builds in the works. One is a low-budget LA360, the other a Magnum 360. I haven't seen any other magnum weighted balancers without the attached serp pulley.
