Check out this little gathering of cars I found out in the woods by my house, pretty sure the property is bank owned now or someones holding onto it. Either way, I ended up wandering down a small path not far from my house and stumbled upon all of these. Trees were sprouting up in the driveway and the grass in some spots was way too tall to walk through without fear of a snake giving me a kiss on my ankle. Here, check it out, there was some cool stuff in there for sure. Sad to see so many classics just rotting away.
The VIN tag is from the Duster, it had an 8 3/4 and the grille and that was all that was left of it

Looks like you found a gold mine,, finder's keepers, ... or sellers, as this case may be...

nice find...

Grab some tools and get some parts...ebay is a great place to make money on stuff like that :toothy10:

More pics!!!

oh there's more inertia, I honestly think it'd be a real pain to get anything out of there. This place is a half a mile back in the woods and any way of gettin them out would involve cutting down some serious lumber.

This was all that was left of this car. It was cutoff from the dash forward.

Sad thing was alot of these cars floorboard were gone and a bunch had been used for a chopping block from the axe holes in them, others got treated as targets by some probably wanna-be "gangstas"

Heh, keith I was kinda thinking that too, The majority of the Mopar parts would go on here. That Duster's grille is crackless. I wish It had the damn buckets! I need a set still! would a set off a D100 fit my Dart? They looked almost exactly the same

Must be really tempting to go get that Duster Grill and rear end

IF you walked in ...you can walk out with parts...if the skeeters dot get ya.....I know a person that would gladly pay for that Tbird steering column with shifter intact....this might be a way for you to fund your build

Unwanted and unloved, thats for sure!!! I'm with the guys...grab your junkyard toolbox and go back and get anything you can get off. I doubt anybody will ever rescue those cars, and there is a treasure trove of parts for a young gun to fund his build!!! Geof

some photos missing now? i dont see a duster

ok i see it now, for some reason the second post with
photos wouldnt load at work.

I'm with everyone else. Get your tools, go in there, and start grabbing parts. Maybe take a wheel barrow with you so it's easier to take your tools in, and parts out. I would love to grab that Sweptline (first pic, 2nd post), as well as several others. I see a LOT of good parts on all those cars.

Okay, I'll help fund your project. What would you take for the rear end? Would like it complete, with shock plates. LOL, let me know. I would come down with cash on a weekend, with cold hard cash, :toothy10: and pick up the assembly.

Contact the assessor and find the owner. Best case they will pay you to clean it up. worst case they will put up some no tresspassing signs.

Whatever you do, don't steal, no matter what. It's your soul and conscience.

awesome find!!! that's really cool, get in there with sum tools and start takin em apart,GOLD MINE !!!

Call the assessor/bank and find the owners.

It's a real shame that some country folks would rather have these cars/trucks rot into the ground then sell them.

People are really sick and motivated by the strangest of things.

Looks like a old salvage yard. Gotta wonder whats in the buildings!!!!!!!

I agree. May be abandoned, may be family owned and they are close by and just avoids the place... Unless or until there's $$interest in it for some reason. Abandoned or not, I'd take serious offense if someone assumed something on my land was free for the taking or to enjoy tearing it up. The last guy that did that I waved a rifle at.

i agree, make sure they are 100% abandoned before you rob parts. i had junk cars on my property a few years back, they were junk and rotted. but i was going to grab the trim and a few other parts off them when i hauled them off. when i went back to cut the trees down to get to them somebody came onto my land and nabbed everything good off of them. it really pissed me off. id hate to do that to somebody else. just make sure nobody owns them first.

Factory red '70 Sweptline. The only thing besides the engine left was a PERFECT dome light for a sweptline and the 8 3/4 under it. The floor pans were gone, like nonexsistant, it was quite sad.Though, atleast it wasnt under a tree like the chevy truck :toothy10:

You had better grab the 8 3/4. Also look at the vin on the duster and see if it is 340 car?
318 car. I dunno how I'd haul the 8 3/4 out since its so far in the woods, think it'd be a little hard to carry that thing a half mile out of the woods on my own

Agreed make sure they are really abandoned before you help yourself.
I mentioned this place to a friend of mine and he said he used to know the property owners a while back and they were living in one of the buildings down there and were pretty methed out and had squatted long enough for the land to be in their name. Both of them were in there 60s-70s and his granny would bring em food from the McDonald's thats close by. When I went down there, they weren't there and all the little buildings had big orange biohazard barrels outside of them that said USDA CONDEMNED and the doors mostly boarded up.

Looks like a old salvage yard. Gotta wonder whats in the buildings!!!!!!!
I wouldnt dare set foot in the biggest one or any of them. All of the floors are rotten on them. I threw a brick into the big one to test the floor and watched a foot wide hole open up. I wish I knew what all was in them, but I'd rather not put myself at risk to breaking a bone or getting bit by a snake because I am sure there is a bunch hanging out down there in the high grass or anywhere cool they can get to.

Also, another tidbit of information surfaced when asking around, a girl I graduated from high school with recognized a picture I posted of this place on facebook and I asked her about it and all she really had to say was "my ex-boyfriend and I went down there a few times, he pretty much smashed every windshield on those cars down there thinking it was funny and cool with his friend":wack: I'd rather not see them smashed up anymore by stupid teenagers than they already are. I just wonder why almost every single car down there is missing its hood, my prime suspect is scrappers as trunklids and hoods are the easiest, heaviest thing to get off. I found the hood for the Falcon on the ground about 30ft away covered with leaves and impossible to lift up because of all the crap that had accumulated on it.

Thanks for the cool pics. Makes you wonder how many forgotten cars are out there in the same situation.
