Is there a difference between the leaf springs in 108 and 111 inch wheel base A bodies?

Only diff I can think of in the suspension and drive train 108 VS 111 is the drive shaft langth. Every thing else shold swap back and forth.

Station Wagons have the stiff HD springs. I think you can go back to 57 on the rear springs (HD) but don't quote me on that. Look it up in a exchange book at a wreaking yard.

I can tell you from personal experience that the leaf springs from a Duster (111" WB) are 1" longer than the leaf springs from a 66 Cuda (108"WB), as I used a set of leaf springs from a 1970 Duster 340 car for my 66 Cuda. The main leaf from the Duster was 1" longer than the main leaf from my original set from the 66, so I had to use the main leaf from the 66 and all the other leaf's from the 340 car to come up with a set of assembled HD springs for my 66. There was no way I was gonna get that Duster main leaf to compress that far without some kind of bind!!! Just sayin', Geof

Dusters A bodies are all 108" wb.

Sometimes the arch in the spring throws things off and they appear shorter. They all should be the same overall length. Maybe there was a freak show going on

Gets very complicated in 70 and even worse in 73 and newer.
What year are we talking about?

Ok now i'm well confused, I thought Dusters were 108 and Darts(except the Sport) were 111???? The year I'm talking about for my car is 1970. The reason I had asked in the first place is that I knew or thought I knew that Darts were 111 because I wanted to buy some prefabbed frame connectors from another FABO member and knew that the ones for my Dart had to be 3 inches longer than 108 wb cars. I had also heard once that you could force the 108 springs onto a 111 wb car but that it was a major frig and that the shackle hangers were in an odd position when you were finished.

Yes Dart Swingers and Scamps are 111WB and Duster,Demon, and Dart Sports are 108WB. You are correct on the connecters as the extra 3 inch is right around the back seat leg area.

The springs area is the same for both though. They do not use different spring lengths.

I've swapped just about every year combo you can think of with no problems as long as you use the whole spring assembly. They made 4, 5, and 6 leaf springs from the factory and two sizes of front bushings. The rear shackle will take up any slight variations in length due to the arc of the spring.

Thanks for the info guys

Any time.

Just an FWI. WB has nothing to do with the spring mounts. 67-76 are all set up the same.

All 60 - 76 A bodys used a 20" front segment. The only Mopar to use 21" segment was 64-65 B body.

Well guys, I was mistaken on the wheelbase of the Duster, but I still contest that the leaf springs I used from the 340 Duster were longer than the original ones from my 66 Cuda. Of course crackedback could be right in the fact that the arch was different, or the fact that they were HD was making them appear different, but I got them from my now deceased buddy "Mopar Joe", and when I got them he stated they were a little longer than the early A's and I would have trouble with that, and I did!!!I'm gonna recant my original post, but stick with my experience!!! Sorry to add to the confusion around here, i'll shut up now!!! Geof
