I lived in long beach which is close and all the bad moved out of compton back in early to mid 2000 when housing sales went crazy in So Calif and the bad went to Riverside and Moreno Valley. hahaha. but yeah it is probably still bad.

I went to Compton once. That was enough for me.

Me too. Everytime I hear the name Compton I can't help but think of Cartman singing the the Elvis song "In the Ghetto" [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z35yeag-DQ4"]YouTube - South Park - Eric Cartman - In The Ghetto[/ame]

so what your saying is if I go get it I should be packing? lol o wait I always do anyway...

Compton...my old National Guard unit was located in Compton in the mid '70s. Just a few good stories:

* The armory was broken into one weekend. The bad guys cut a hole in an exterior door with a torch, got into the weapons room and stole a few racks full of M16s but didn't get the firing pins that were locked in a separate safe. The FBI recovered all the weapons a couple of years later on an undercover sting operation in East L.A. - still chained and locked in the racks.
* After morning formation on Saturday, we'd head to the Compton PD jail to see if that's where any local Guard members had spent the night before.
* Coming back from weekend duty at Ft. Irwin, one of our guys driving a deuce-and-a-half (2.5 ton Army truck) stopped at a red light a block from the armory, looked over on the corner and a local was standing there with a hand gun trained on him. Needless to say he ran the light.

Yeah, Compton...great part of L.A.
