74 Dart w/ 340 6 pack

Evildart,

I started at your 1st post in Aug 2010 where you set a schedule for "end of Sep" and was going to advise "no schedule, it will only disappoint". 2 yrs have elapsed since I started my Dart (thougt "maybe a month"), but am still determined to do it right the first time and not back-track on any thing. You are making great progress on such an ambitious build.

At first I thought that I was going to leave it orange and just put the
engine, transmission, and rear end in but after I really got to looking
at it I knew that the only way to go was to restore this car right.
The problem with it before I started was that someone before me took

off the vinyl top and took off some of the rivets that hold the trim on the package tray so any time it got wet or rained the trunk spare tire well would fill up and we all know the story from there. They also drilled all kinds of holes trying to set bucket seats in it and never sealed up any of the holes ='s bad floor pan.

Knowing that the car was always a California car helped with the decision
to restore it. Inside door panels are free of rust, door jams free of rust, frame rails free of rust ect...

I looked at it and said if I am going to put that 340 six pack in that car it should have a well deserved home and to make that much power and torque it needed to be up to the task of being able to handle it.

I hate to start something with a time line because we all know that's just
a wishful though but I think that by this Sept. I will be cruising in the Dart, (fingers crossed)
