What Did You Learn To Drive In

I started when I was 14 in a '64 Ramble American, flat head 3 on the tree, using an empty store parking lot, that was in the days when they were closed on Sunday. Then in the school drivers ed, they had a '69 Cutlass, IIRC, and took the test in my dads '68 Plymouth Custom Suburban.
 
73 sattelite sebring, and also a 76 cordoba. ( parents cars of that time period) then six months after I got my licence I bought my first car , a 73 AMX.
 
i learned to drive in a 1988 dakota with a bent pushrod, then my first street driving experience was in a 97 Dakota, also the same truck i got my first ticket in, the 88 had a 3.9 but now houses a 360 and the 97 has a 5.2... good times, good times

Learned to kinda drive a stick in a 90 Cummins ram, but it's a diesel that doesn't ever stall, and it has no brakes or steering, my next experience came with a 90 318-powered ram.... that's when i learned about power dives and powershifting lol

the first classic I drove was a 67 GTX..... 100MPH is fun as hell

The first fast vehicle I drove was a 1987 Ram which has a 415 (360) smallblock and runs 12's.... that's the same day i learned how to keep a car straight while launching with spinning tires
 
Grandpa tried in a '64 Electra, but I was too short. Landed up being a brand new '69 Z/28. Guess which one I liked better.
 
I was obsessed with driving since I was very little, and I watched how my Dad drove his '62 Bug. When I was 9 I used to wait at the end of the driveway for my Dad to come home from work in his '67 Barracuda notchback and he let me take it up the driveway and park it in the carport. Then I would stand at the end of the driveway next door and my friend's Dad would let me drive his Valiant into their carport. When I was 13 I worked at my Grandpa's lumberyard, my cousin and I took turns driving the forklift and the frontend loader, and after we were done working, we were allowed to drive Grandpa's '72 F100 302 3-speed around the yard. Then when we were old enough my cousin and I took turns driving the truck on the road. So I learned on a few vehicles. My Grandpa was a great guy, he never got mad at us for anything, and he had a lot of patience with teenagers.
 
my moms crappy 76 Pinto wagon.. lol.. I had a great time in that car the first summer I was driving.. this was around the same time I learned that when the idiot light for oil comes on and stays on, its already too late! LMAO .. killed that car..
 
I learned on a B Farmall and Z Minneapolis Moline. When I was big enough to reach the clutch and brake I graduated to a 53 Chev pickup and a 46 Chev ton and a half.
 
My dads blue 1969 Corronet R/T 440 4 spd. I ended up smashing it. but I bought another light yellow R/T same drive line but ram air.
 
This was my ride when I turned sixteen and learned to drive. Once I had my license I drove it to high school and used it as my Saturday Night Date Car.
It ruined me as far as other cars were concerned; I was now addicted to Mopars.

I learned to drive on an IH Farmall tractor.
When I turned 16 my grandpa gave me his 65 Coronet, manual brakes, steering and a 3 on the tree.
My second car was a 71 challanger.
 
A Datsun 210 with manual trans on dirt roads in Utah at age 13. My mom is THE best woman driver I know of, she drifts dirt roads like no other.
 
3 horse Briggs and Strat on a tube frame go cart, then graduated to the H and M International/Farmall farm tractors.
The first car was a Fred Flinstone farm car. A 54 Ford fourdoor 6cyl three on tree with OD. There was a piece of tin barn siding under the d/s floormat to keep your feet from dragging on the the gravel road.
 
1961 Cadillac "Series 62" convertible, 390-4bbl....and an old 1963 Chevy C-50 grain truck with a 348-4bbl and a 5x2 trans with a split axle.
 
Learnd on a 66 Chevy Biscayne. 283, auto, 2 door. dark blue. I'm a Mopar guy, but I would love to find one like that.
Learned to drive a 4 speed in a 69 GTO Judge.
