The 318 NON believers

Nobody is saying BS...you need to understand NHRA class racing and its cost...

it is not a stock 318 block...it is a R3 block...aftermarket rods...crank...heads are ported...solid roller cam...aluminium intake has been cut opened..ported and reweld back together...transmission is a 904 with aluminium billet parts...

engine probably sees a good 8500 rpm....

It is not your Grandmothers 318.......It is your Grandmothers life saving 318...
I dont know anything about building a NHRA class car....but I know it takes big $$$$.

Not familiar with "R3" ....I assume that is a special aftermarket block?

Its just that the way the OP said it, it seemed like a stock 89/90 block with some work....thanks for clearing that up.

Still, seems like its very expensive to go fast no matter what ya start out with...LOL

I dont think the original poster has chimed in since........ ???
